Custom Map
In 2010 I created a custom level for the game Titan Quest: Immortal Throne, on speculation for a potential client. The only requirements were that it be pretty, and be done within a week, including learning the toolset.

I created the layout and theme from scratch... painting an elevation map, arranging the ground textures and placing objects, creating the lighting and positioning sounds. I also did a little custom scripting to unlock a few hidden sound assets I liked.

The individual assets themselves are not mine, in designing the level I limited myself to just using the stock assets that shipped with the game. The default game starts out in a rocky and arid environment, but for my level I wanted a more rich and verdant environment, so I chose a cascading Chinese garden.

There's no game play, it's purely a visual/auditory test... basically just make it pretty. I did create a narrative for the environment though, so each setting in the level was laid out to tell its own part of the story.
